To our dear CSUN ATC Community and beyond,

As the organizers of the annual CSUN Assistive Technology Conference (ATC), we are committed to providing a welcoming, diverse, and inclusive event where every voice is valued. We recognize that recent changes to immigration policy and international travel requirements may pose challenges for some in our community. Yet, our conference is at its strongest when all perspectives—across countries, cultures, and lived experiences—have the opportunity to contribute. We welcome presenters, attendees, companies, and organizations from around the globe, because it is this diversity that makes the CSUN Conference a success.

Accessibility is advancing worldwide, shaped by changing policies and practices. In the past year alone, progress has been marked by the European Accessibility Act, the Accessible Canada Act, India’s Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, and Korea’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. The CSUN AT Conference has long been the space where global accessibility leaders gather to share ideas, challenges, and innovations. This year, it is more important than ever for our colleagues from Europe, India, Canada, Asia, and beyond to share insights on how these shifts are influencing product development and shaping more inclusive societies. Together, we can open the door to meaningful, cross-border conversations about compliance, innovation, and inclusion.

Though hosted in the United States, the CSUN AT Conference thrives on international participation. As the largest event of its kind worldwide, it benefits immensely from the exchange of global best practices, groundbreaking research, and emerging technologies that empower people with disabilities across borders. International participants—whether researchers, developers, advocates, or individuals with lived experience—expand the scope of solutions and enrich the dialogue. Their involvement fosters cross-cultural collaboration, promotes universal design principles, and strengthens a global community united in dismantling barriers in education, employment, and daily life.

At its heart, the CSUN Assistive Technology Conference is more than an event—it is a global platform for authentic representation, innovation, and empowerment.

Sincerely,

Julia Santiago, Managing Director CSUN Center on Disabilities

Ted Drake, 2026 CSUN ATC Program Chair

Diane Delaney, 2026 CSUN ATC Program Chair

Klaus Miesenberger, 2026 CSUN ATC Scientific Program Chair
